Tokyo Tower

Ueno Zoo

9-83 Ueno Koen, Taito-ku

Opened as the first zoo in Japan, Ueno Zoo covers a massive area of 14.2 ha, in which 3000 animals of about 400 types reside. Japan’s first monorail connects the east and west parts of the zoo, covering a distance of 0.3 km which takes about 1.5 minutes. The monorail exterior is decorated with pictures of cute animals and is very popular.
